Broker FAQs
Yes, we do have the ability to arrange DBAs (direct billing agreements) with most insurers, allowing medical claims to be paid for and submitted by World Travel Protection directly to the insurance company for reimbursement. This helps to ensure a smooth claim submission and reimbursement process for our client’s travellers and helps to avoid any out-of-pocket costs at the time of accessing medical care. We currently have global direct billing capabilities in place with many insurance clients. We are always happy to coordinate direct billing with a client’s insurer when a DBA is not already in place.
At World Travel Protection, we understand medical costs can be expensive, unpredictable, and vary throughout the world. Still, providing our travellers with the best medical care is our top priority.
Our role is to be a client and patient advocate throughout all aspects of the medical case management we deliver. Our GlobalCare Network provides access to 20,000 medical providers where the cost of services have been pre-negotiated without impacting the delivery of quality of care.
ISO 31030 is a guidance document that provides the first global framework for Travel Risk Management. It is not certifiable; however, our team pioneered a self-assessment audit tool, that easily guides you through the key aspects of the framework. Many organisations also take advantage of our ISO 31030 expert consulting to ensure their policy is up to date.
Duty of Care is defined as an organisation’s responsibility and commitment to ensuring the physical and mental wellbeing of its employees. This obligation touches all aspects of business including travel. Implementing a comprehensive risk management program typically entails the structuring of a consistent framework to support risk prevention, travel and trip planning, insurance benefit coordination, and incident response preparedness. A Travel Risk Management (TRM) program, such as World Travel Protection’s TRM solution, is intended to support organisations with all these aspects by providing the tools and resources to educate, locate, and communicate with their travellers from the start of their journey until they return. Our medical and security assistance services include features such as pre-trip advisories, country risk profiles, real-time global incident alerts, location management technology, emergency and non-emergency medical care support, travel security management, and evacuation coordination – ultimately keeping travellers and their risk managers prepared and protected. Additionally, our ability to offer ISO 31030 consulting guidance as well as other relevant trainings help to further support duty of care efforts.
