Yes, we do have the ability to arrange DBAs (direct billing agreements) with most insurers, allowing medical claims to be paid for and submitted by World Travel Protection directly to the insurance company for reimbursement. This helps to ensure a smooth claim submission and reimbursement process for our client’s travellers and helps to avoid any out-of-pocket costs at the time of accessing medical care. We currently have global direct billing capabilities in place with many insurance clients. We are always happy to coordinate direct billing with a client’s insurer when a DBA is not already in place.
At World Travel Protection, we understand medical costs can be expensive, unpredictable, and vary throughout the world. Still, providing our travellers with the best medical care is our top priority.
Our role is to be a client and patient advocate throughout all aspects of the medical case management we deliver. Our GlobalCare Network provides access to 20,000 medical providers where the cost of services have been pre-negotiated without impacting the delivery of quality of care.
ISO 31030 is a guidance document that provides the first global framework for Travel Risk Management. It is not certifiable; however, our team pioneered a self-assessment audit tool, that easily guides you through the key aspects of the framework. Many organisations also take advantage of our ISO 31030 expert consulting to ensure their policy is up to date.
Duty of Care is defined as an organisation’s responsibility and commitment to ensuring the physical and mental wellbeing of its employees. This obligation touches all aspects of business including travel. Implementing a comprehensive risk management program typically entails the structuring of a consistent framework to support risk prevention, travel and trip planning, insurance benefit coordination, and incident response preparedness. A Travel Risk Management (TRM) program, such as World Travel Protection’s TRM solution, is intended to support organisations with all these aspects by providing the tools and resources to educate, locate, and communicate with their travellers from the start of their journey until they return. Our medical and security assistance services include features such as pre-trip advisories, country risk profiles, real-time global incident alerts, location management technology, emergency and non-emergency medical care support, travel security management, and evacuation coordination – ultimately keeping travellers and their risk managers prepared and protected. Additionally, our ability to offer ISO 31030 consulting guidance as well as other relevant trainings help to further support duty of care efforts.

Traveller Tracking Portal and App Powered by Onsolve, Informed by Riskline
Our Travel Assist App helps travellers on-the-ground, informing them in real-time of emerging or endemic risks directly in their travel path.
This allows travellers to take ownership of their own safety, continuously monitor their environment, or call for reassurance or further information about emerging or evolving situations if they need.
Travellers have the ability to share their location within a general 5km radius. This ensures they receive relevant information while alleviating concerns of constant tracking. High-precision tracking is also available and is triggered when the traveller activates the emergency call button.
To help travellers better prepare for future trips, they have the power to add any number of countries to their interest list within our Travel Assist App. Once added, they’ll gain access to each country’s intelligence report and can view all alerts for those countries on the app.
Our Travel Assist App connects travellers to emergency help whenever they need it. If a medical or security issue impacts their trip, they can click the ‘Emergency Assistance’ button within our app. This immediately triggers their location and provides the option to call our 24-hour Command Centre.
As World Travel Protection provides medical and security travel assistance to leisure and business travellers, we leverage those volumes when negotiating discounts for medical treatment and aeromedical transfers. Third party costs are passed through to our clients – we do not mark-up provider costs. We provide the original invoice to ensure complete transparency and peace-of-mind.
We value relationships above all else and treat all our people like family. World Travel Protection offers a competitive commission structure and would love to chat with you about our rates. Contact us to learn more.

Travel Manager, QUT
“World Travel Protection’s emergency assistance [team] swung into action and arranged everything for us – a first-class hospital in Shanghai, the ambulance to the hospital, an immediate hospital cost guarantee, and a level of personal interest and care that was exceptional and unexpected.”
Chairman, Dymocks
“World Travel Protection has continually proven it can provide a superior assistance service at a competitive cost. When our clients need it most, their team delivers. We have held them in high esteem since April 2001. They also provide reports to help us monitor the needs of our clients and at considerably less cost than other providers.”
National A&H Manager Australia, Chubb Insurance
“World Travel Protection has the experience, a preparedness to share knowledge, and a team that partners [with] key customers. This is very important and sets you apart. Your competition put spin on the process and talk it up but have limited on-the-ground experience.”
